PNW Hikes and Outings planned a group outing to Fort Casey State Park located on Whidbey Island, WA!
Fort Casey is an old military defense system used for the Puget Sound. Built in the late 1800's it is now decommissioned and a popular place to go exploring. This will be less of a hike and more of a place to explore in fursuit, admire the landscape, explore the old fort systems and get into all sorts of trouble.
After we're done to check out a local farm and get some more scenic photos of Whidbey Island's scenery. The farm owner's daughter was one of the original furries in the 80's so she is more than okay with exploring the farm in fursuit, the farm is right in Langley which is a very queer-orientated town.
Since the ferry system can be somewhat unpredictable with traffic and times, aim to be in the ferry line around 11am. Some of us may get split up with alternating ferries getting up there but since we're not on a time constraint we should all eventually arrive there around 12-12:30pm.

travel to whidbey island
Most of the group traveled via the ferry from the Mukilteo terminal to the Fort Casey parking lot. Ferry traffic was quite light making for a quick 20 minute trip across the Sound with weather being significantly warmer than originally forecast getting up to the low 80s.
admiralty head lighthouse
First stop was exploring the lighthouse which was open until 4pm! The volunteers there were super accommodating providing a tour and allow our group into the tower for photos and even getting us all into the tower staircase for a group photo.
fort casey exploration
Next we spent several hours exploring the fort itself which included lots of damp, dank, cave-like bunker interiors which provided a wonderful break from the heat.
whidbey island farm
After a stop in Langley for pizza, the group headed to the local farm to explore. The cows were hungry for dinner, so we started by foraging for apples to feed them.
Yesterday our furry group had an outing to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island where we suited up in partials and romped around! Such a great time and so happy I got to shoot the event! Check out the full story here: www.lynx.photos/journal/pnwf... #furry #pnw #furlife #seattlefurs #seattle #photography
